The 64th Secretary of State made history as the highest woman to serve in the U.S. government. She is an expert on the United nations, global diplomacy, NATO, national security, and foreign relations. Her autobiography, Madame Secretary: A Memoir, was followed by The Mighty and the Almighty which was published in May 2006.

The prolific and award winning author rocked the Muslim world with the publication of his book, The Satanic Verses, resulting in a fatwa, essentially a death sentence, being issued against him. During his years under protective custody he continued to write. His most recent award winning work is Shalimar the Clown.

A literary phenomenon, his bestseller Angela's Ashes, about his poverty-stricken Irish childhood, earned him the Pulitzer Prize and was made into a movie. The sequel, ‘Tis, was also a New York Times bestseller. He is a dynamic storyteller whose most recent book, Teacher Man, was published in 2005.
