Presidential Baseball Fast Facts: On March 27, 1981, President Ronald W. Reagan had lunch with 32 Hall of Fame players at the White House. While President, Reagan signed a proclamation declaring May of 1983 "National Amateur Baseball Month." Six months after President Reagan left office, he attended an All-Star game in which he performed some broadcasting duties. Prior to being elected President, he portrayed Hall of Fame pitcher Grover Cleveland Alexander on the big screen in the movie "The Winning Team."
