Item Description
Only available on the CAP Foundation Auction and at the Sebastiani Winery -- one 1.5 liter bottle of Sebastiani's 2001 Cherryblock Cabernet Sauvignon wine.
Wine Spectator, June 2004: 92 Points. "This wine strikes an excellent balance between ripe, grapey, plum and currant flavors, and the spicy toasty oak adds a wonderful dimension. Intense and concentrated, sharply focused and long and complex on the finish, where the fruit and wood work in harmony. Best from 2005-2012."
Winemaker's Notes: This is possibly the best Cherryblock every produced; an ageworthy wine that reflects our most rich and concentrated Cabernet to date. The dark crimson color is the first hint of the opulence of this wine. The aroma is complex, layered with truffle, dried olives and blackberry nuances. You can feel the weight and richness of the wine in the mouth, along with gobs of concentrated blackberry fruit, which is so characteristic of this vineyard in a good year. The structure for aging is present but subtle; there are no harsh tannins, and the wine finishes elegantly.
This wine will come in a collector's wooden box.
