ABOUT MOUNT SNOW
Mount Snow is a four-season resort nestled in Southern Vermont’s Green Mountains. With some of Vermont’s best skiing, beautiful foliage, quaint villages and the 11 mile long Harriman reservoir.
Mt. Snow is the largest mountain within 4 hours of New York, Boston, Albany or Hartford. It has a top elevation of 3600 feet with 771 acres of skiing serviced by 23 lifts. There are trails for every still level including a Green circle 2.5 mile cruiser, lots of intermediate terrain and the very challenging North Face featuring the famous "Ripcord" trail. As host of ESPN'S Winter X Games twice Mount Snow knows how to please the extreme crowd. There are 2 terrain parks and a superpipe for those who want to show off their tricks. Mount Snow also has a lift serviced tubing area, several cross country skiing centers, snowshoeing and snowmobile tours.
When you are all done playing in the snow, go home to a nice hot tub!
Snow is the mountain bike capital of the east! With 45 miles of lift serviced terrain and the latest equipment available for rent its no wonder the North American Mountain Bike Association has held championship events here every year since 1988.
Most ski towns sprung up around a resort whereas the Mount Snow Valley was a tourist destination long before it was a ski area. The nearby towns of Dover, Wilmington, Wardsboro, Jacksonville and Halifax offer all that you would expect from a small country town. There are lots of antique stores, local artwork, crafts and a very popular flea market open all summer. The area also offers excellent dining options for a wide variety of palettes and budgets. There are a variety of activities available in areas that you may not have thought about. From guided fishing trips or a day on the lake in your rented boat to sleigh rides and quilt making classes. There are enough things to do here to impress even the most jaded traveler. There is always something going on in the Mount Snow Valley. Parades, fireworks, country fairs, duck races (you just have to see this) live music, plays, and even rodeos are some of the events that you have the opportunity to enjoy here in the Mount Snow Valley.
