Item Description

This auction item is a 7 day/7 night charter aboard the yacht "Sea Hunter" in Abaco, Bahamas! Comfortably sleeping up to 6 guests, Sea Hunter is a 2002 Mainship 430 Trawler (47'), based in Marsh Harbour, Abaco.

Powered by reliable twin 450 hp Yanmar turbo diesels, and a generator, she's equipped for your cruising comfort. On deck you'll find a spacious flybridge with upper steering station, shaded by a large bimini and enclosure.

The roomy padded cockpit seating with coffee table and icebox is ideal for entertaining guests or a relaxing afternoon nap. Sea Hunter is a comfortable, reliable passage-maker, and can cruise economically at 10 up to 18 knots. There's an inflatable dinghy with outboard for exploring and snorkeling, with a handy dinghy lift; plus a large swim platform and a propane BBQ on the aft deck for grilling freshly-caught seafood.

Friendly and accessible, the Abacos are located 180 miles east of Florida. Marsh Harbour is the perfect hub for some of the best day trips in the Out Islands: Elbow Cay, Man-O-War Cay, Great Guana Cay, Hopetown, and Green Turtle Cay.

Item Special Note

Charter must be used July 1 - November 15, 2008.  Subject to availability.

NOT INCLUDED:
- Air travel
- Captain. (You may "bareboat" or sail yourself. While you don't need a license or certificate to charter a bareboat in Florida and the Caribbean, you do need to show a considerable amount of skill and experience in order to be allowed to operate the yacht by yourself. Otherwise you'll need a captain to help you, which can be arranged by Florida Yacht Charters. Dr. Ayers will offer to be the captain and tour guide for no cost; a list of dates he is available will be provided to the auction winner.)
- Fuel at the end of the charter. Estimated cost is between $300 and $800 depending on how much cruising is done and at what speeds.
- Provisioning (onboard food & beverages). Florida Yacht Charters will provision the boat for a fee. You may shop on your first day there or if Dr. Ayers is the captain he will provision the boat the day before you arrive. Estimated cost average for a party of six for a week is between $400 and $700 for food and beverages.
- Marina cost, water, and/or local dining.
- Tips for the charter company operator and captain. (If Dr. Ayers is captain there is no tipping.)
