Item Description
Go to Sports Basement in San Francisco for a unique shopping experience. Scavenged chairs and couches are scattered about so customers can lounge and chat, read magazines or try on shoes. Those shoes are stacked into Stonehenges plopped in the middle of the floor. You need not wait for a staffer to bring out your size, just tug out the right box and try them on.
An example of the whimsy: At De Haro, a hand-painted yellow brick road on the concrete floor wends through the displays, and then abruptly transforms itself into a grid for playground hopscotch.
Sports Basement includes most of the outdoor basics, like biking, camping and trekking, and a few neighborhood/urban pastimes, with bins of footballs and racks of Frisbees. Where there's room, there are surprises. At the Presidio facility, ski/snowboard displays are still out in June, letting customers gear up early for the next season with last year's cool stuff -- at fat discounts.
This is for a $100 Gift Certificate to Sports Basement: 5% of this gift will be donated directly to BHDS.
Gift Certificate does not expire and can be used In-Store or Online.
