Item Description
Your visit to the McEvoy Ranch on 550 acres of rolling hills west of Petaluma, will begin with a stroll through one of the olive orchards. Here, you will participate in a discussion of the history of the property and their methods for cultivating Tuscan olive varieties in Northern California. You will then proceed to their frantoio, or olive milling room, to view their state of the art equipment and learn the process they use to extract olive oil. Your tour will conclude with a sensory assessment of their olive oil and a discussion of the many culinary uses and health benefits of olive oil. After the tour, Head Chef Gerald Gass will prepare a gourmet lunch in the ranch's country kitchen-featuring fresh produce from the McEvoy organic garden.
