Learn to sail with the oldest sailing school in the Northwest. The Seattle Sailing Club has been in the sailing instruction business at Shilshole Bay Marina since 1968. We only teach in small groups and you can learn to sail around your busy schedule. We teach weekends and weekdays all year and in the evenings during the spring and summer months. You do not need to be a member to participate in our lesson program. Certificate includes a twelve hour course comprised of 3 hours in the classroom and 9 hours on the water with hands-on instruction. You will learn terminology, knots, rules of the road and basic sail theory, rigging, sail selection, seamanshaip, points of sail upwind and downwind and man over-board recovery. Certificate expires December 31, 2008.
