Item Description
"The Last Supper" needlework/tapestry stitched on silk and handmade by a group of unwed (including widowed) women in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The women are taught this skill by the Salesian Sisters in an effort to help provide income to their families. As a result the women are not forced to beg on the streets or "trafficked". The Salesian Sisters are Catholic Missionaries in Bangladesh, one of the poorest and most overcrowded countries in the world.
