Item Description
This very famous signed photograph entitled "We Shall Overcome", taken by John Byrne Cooke at the 1963 Newport Folk Festival depicts the close of Bob Dylan's triumphant debut as he called out Joan Baez and Peter, Paul and Mary to join him in singing "Blowin' in the Wind". For an encore, they were joined by the Freedom Singers, Pete Seeger, and Theodore Bikel in a moving rendition of the civil-rights anthem "We Shall Overcome". This last song was performed for a sold out audience of 13,000 on their feet, singing along. A rare collectors' item! Photographer John Byrne Cooke was Janis Joplin's road manager.
