Item Description
Kay has been a head coach for 36 years. She is only one of six Division 1 Woman's Basketball Coaches to achieve 700 career victories. She has guided her team to 20 out of the 26 NCAA Tournaments and four Tournament Titles. She is the only coach to win Olympic Gold twice since Women's Basketball was made part of the Olympics in 1976. Her award include:
ESPY Jim Valvano Perserverance Award - first person to receive it
Laura Wreath Award - State's highest sports recognition award
Naismith Award - Outstanding contribution to Woman's Basketball
2007 Bob Bradley Spirit & Courage Award - co-recipient
National Coach of the Year - eight times by various organizations including USA Today, Sports Illustrated, WBCA, & John and Nellie Wooden Association
