Item Description
Vince Papale's life is the stuff of movies. It was 1976, and Papale was a 30- year-old bartender and high school teacher who tried out for the NFL after Philadelphia Eagles coach Dick Vermeil held an open tryout. Papale, who stood 6-foot 2-inches and weighed 195 pounds, made the team, becoming the oldest rookie in NFL history. He played three seasons with the Eagles (1976-78) as a special teams player and wide receiver, and was voted Special Team Captain by his teammates. In 2006, Disney released a movie about Vince's story entitled "Invincible," starring Mark Wahlberg as Papale. Vince Papale has hand signed this 8x10 photograph. A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
