Item Description
Offer your employees or colleagues a unique team-building experience! Come to The Food Project-North Shore’s farm for a morning of positive, energizing work and learning where you and your colleagues will enjoy a memorable opportunity to work together to help others.
The Food Project is a non-profit organization that produces healthy food for residents of the city and suburbs, provides youth leadership opportunities, and educates the community about agriculture and local food systems. In 2006, The Food Project grew 30,000 pounds of fresh produce that was distributed to soup kitchens and food pantries and sold at affordable farmers' markets. As the number of farms decreases, working on the land to grow food has become a unique opportunity. The Food Project believes that volunteering is an important way for people in the local community to connect with each other while working together to build a better food system on the North Shore.
A corporate team-building day at the 2-acre Long Hill Farm in Beverly will provide an invigorating reprieve from the office as employees enjoy the outdoors and the beautiful setting of The Trustees of Reservations' property. The Food Project welcomes up to 25 employees to spend a structured morning volunteering on the farm, where they will have the chance to learn about agriculture, spend constructive time working together in a new setting, and make an impact within the North Shore community.
Item Special Note
Volunteer days can be scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays from 8:30-11:30AM, or on some Saturdays from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm from September 4 through November 10, 2007. Volunteers are welcome to bring lunch to eat at the farm picnic tables.
