Join Marcus Schneck, nature book author, nature writer for The Patriot-News in Harrisburg and outdoor writer for BerksMont Newspapers, for a half-day guided walk to gather, prepare and sample wild foods.
Wild foods in spring may include fern fiddleheads, dandelion greens, cattail, plaintain, chickweed and more. Autumn foods include beech nuts, acorns, wild grapes, wild potatoes, and rose hips. Regardless of time of year, it will include chickory, mint and sumac beverages, acorn bread, and one of Marcus's famous wild jellies or jams.
