Item Description
Unusual opportunity to own K2 Apache twin tip slalom skis autographed by Billy Kidd! Billy used these skis once at a charity event in Vail, and both skis bear Billy Kidd’s autograph. The 172cm skis have platform Marker MOD 11.0 bindings. Billy Kidd was the first in what has become a long line of great American Alpine skiers. He was the first American male to win an Olympic medal in skiing and also the first to win a World Championship when he captured US hearts by winning the alpine combined event in 1970. Billy, who called Stowe Vermont his home for many years, is presently the director of ski operations at Steamboat. These skis were donated to DBMS by Tony Chamberlain, a Duxbury resident and long time supporter and Director of the school. Tony has recently retired from The Boston Globe where he covered skiing and yachting on the local and global circuits.
Item Special Note
