Item Description
This item is a miniture horsehair plate with abalone and bead ornamentation, approximately 4-1/2" wide.
A collector's dream - your opportunity to own an Aguilar miniature horsehair basket! Linda Aguilar was born in Santa Barbara, California of Chumash descent and is a 1978 graduate of the University of California in Santa Barbara. Her basketry has been shown at the Southwest Museum in Los Angeles, Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, and elsewhere. For the past several years she has exhibited her basketry and decorated gourds at Pacific Western Traders and appeared there for special showings. A fine large horsehair basket with abalone shell ornamentation by Linda is exhibited at the Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. as a part of the gallery's permanent collection of outstanding examples of contemporary American art.
