Item Description
The boys developed their understanding of the concepts of Family through the three ideas of wisdom, love, and respect. First, they expressed their ideas of these concepts through a discussion and then by drawing and creating patterns to symbolize their ideas. The patterns were a way for them to begin exploring mosaic pattern design with paper tiles. First Grade parent Sonya Clark-Herrera, and her colleague Rachel, then took these ideas and transformed them into beautiful mosaic designs around each of the three ideas: wisdom, love, and respect. The boys then applied the mosaic tiles to three separate boards in order to complete a triptych, representing their interpretation of Family. Triptych is composed of 3 panels made up of of 12" squares.
