Item Description
Corey Dargel will write your own 3- to 4-minute, custom-made love song for your significant other, son, daughter, sibling, celebrity crush, parent, pet or whomever else. You talk with Corey about your loved one - who he is, what she does, what he likes, what she hates, etc. - and Corey writes a song about him or her. You receive two CDs of the song performed by Corey as well as a version with just the accompaniment track (so you can sing the song yourself). Your commissioned song will be webcast on ACO's site, so you can share it with friends and family worldwide. You will be notified of all live performances of your commissioned song, and all live performances are dedicated to the appropriate couple (or polyamorous group).
Corey Dargel is a composer, lyricist and singer of songs that "smartly and impishly blur the boundaries between contemporary classical idioms and pop" (NY Times). Dargel has been called "an innovator both challenging and catchy" by Time Out New York and "an ironic pop icon" by The Village Voice and Salon praises his songs’ “sustained bursts of lyrical brilliance." Dargel performed the premiere of his All the Notes and Rhythms I've Ever Loved at ACO’s October 2006 Carnegie Hall concert. His "Commission a Love Song" project was recently profiled on Public Radio International's "Studio 360" program (http://studio360.org/episodes/2007/02/09)
Item Special Note
Your commissioned song will be composed, recorded and produced over a period of three to four months, beginning in May 2007.
