Six guests will discover the heart and soul of Tuscan and Umbrian wine culture with a spectacular five-night stay at the exclusive coastal “Villetta Di Monterufoli,” near Pisa. Located between Rome & Florence, Monterufoli seems to be out of the most romantic Italian environmentalist’s dream, abundant with vineyards, rolling hills, comfort, and unparalleled Tuscan wines. Surrounded only by centuries old trees, a wealth of springs, the classic inhabitants of the Mediterranean brush (wild doves and migratory birds, in particular) and little isolated stone houses.
Saiagricola S.P.A., www.saiagricola.it, will host three couples at the Villetta and provide a unique inside look at three of its top wineries, all of which consistently produce 90+ rated features in Wine Spectator Magazine, amongst others. The famed wineries are La Poderina in Montalcino, Fattoria Del Cerro in Montepulciano, and Colpetrone in Umbria. Each day’s outings will include private tastings and cellar tours with winemakers and guided vineyard tours with the viticulturist.
