Item Description
12"x36" collage on canvas
In this fabulous collage, Ms. Lewis' second graders created a neighborhood inspired by artist Romare Bearden's piece called "The Block." While firmly rooted in African-American culture, Romare Bearden's life-affirming art speaks to everyone. He created his own unique style of collage art through experimentation with fabric, photographs and other materials.
Representing both individual contribution and collaboration, the children's final product is not just representative of a neighborhood, but rather of a community in the spirit of NPS. What more could you ask for?
Item Special Note
All NPS Student Art will be on display in the Katzen Center beginning April 4.
