Item Description
One session of 8 to 10 contour drawing classes for a first through fifth grade student. The classes will be offered on Friday afternoons afterschool, 2:30-3:30 pm, in the Saint Mark's Art Studio. This program teaches children how to build complex drawings by identifying lines and shapes in a modeled picture. While creating colorful art with markers and pencils, the students develop their listening and sequencing skills, build on their small motor skills, and, most importantly, learn techniques that promote their ability to problem solve. Exploration of the language, mechanics and creativity in art promotes the student's ability to acquire and develop the skills that are essential to effective learning.
