Item Description

Deer Crossing Inn.

It all began with the purchase of our 1800’s mining cart. Next came the outhouse and a covered wagon- and the rest seems to be history... In 2001, we purchased 21600 Eden Canyon Rd in Castro Valley California. Rick’s admiration of Old West novelties paired with Cindi’s flair for creative classic decorating made a perfect match for the restoration of our 4500 square foot home. This comfortable venue for family and friends quickly evolved into an ideal San Francisco Area Bed and Breakfast. Deer Crossing Inn was born! The grounds are breathtaking; only minutes from the city, you feel like you are deep in the middle of a forest. The cascading water falling from the waterwheel is soothing to the soul. Gazing into the two unique ponds can make any worries disappear. Study the faux gold mine and ponder the rush the miners felt when they “struck it rich”. Sitting peacefully as the fire flickers in the fire pit; childhood camping memories come rushing to your mind. (Forget the tents, these rooms are first class!) Sip your favorite beverage and listen to your kind of music in our hot tub under the stars.  Inside the Inn is a luxurious Great Room with cozy furnishings including two famously favorite oversize wing chairs flanking the 16 foot cobblestone fireplace. Casual, classic and comfortable are often descriptors used by our visitors. Resident fish brighten the room through the built in aquarium. A 1600 square foot deck surrounds three sides of the second floor offering amazing views of the property.  Downstairs is a huge game room with every amenity imaginable! A cornered commercial style bar with bar stools makes a great place to “belly up” for a beverage. Movies, popcorn, cards, air hockey and more can all be enjoyed any time of day or night. High speed internet is available throughout the Inn as well as complimentary local and long distance phone service. (Within the US)  Wildlife is plentiful. Deer do cross the property daily. Squirrels, raccoons, skunks, blue jays, fox and coyote are common sights. Local cattle graze the hillsides. On the way in, you will see majestic horses being trained by our neighbors. Come and enjoy the Old West Hospitality at Deer Crossing Inn. No sawdust or cowboy style accommodations; just fine linens, good friends, great service and friendly hosts. We look forward to meeting you soon!
