Item Description
NPS mom and experienced photographer Pam Hazen Maddox has again donated one of her exquisite Polaroid Image Transfer pictures. An alternative photographic process, Polaroid Image Transfer crosses the boundaries of painting, printmaking and photography. An image, first exposed onto Polaroid film, is pulled apart before complete development and the dyes from the negative are rolled onto another surface, such as watercolor paper. The colors are muted, the image is slightly soft, and the paper adds texture, giving it a painterly quality. The image can be further manipulated through the use of watercolors, pastels or colored pencils. This unique piece depicts a classic Venetian scene with statuesque buildings, canals and gondolas. Matted and framed in rustic wood with antique gold beveling, this piece is 11.5" x 13.5". Bellissima!
