This beautiful four-ply rag board piece, in a thick red and black burl frame measures 15½” by 14½” inches and was painted in 1998.
Eric Stotik’s small acrylic paintings are intriguing examples of modern surrealism. The small works, which are done either on panel or on paper adhered to panel, are haunting dreamscapes that instead of relying on shock value, create a subtle, eerie mood. Art critics have raved about his work stating, “Stotik’s talent with detail and layering is apparent in paintings, where crowded, linear composition or cryptic text slowly emerge from beneath layers of glazing.”
