Item Description
Rich "Goose" Gossage set the standard for today's closers. Over the course of 22 years with nine teams in Major League Baseball, Gossage made four postseason appearances and amassed 310 career saves. In an 11-year period, he was an All-Star nine times and had an ERA of 2.27 or lower in eight of those years. Gossage still holds the NL record for a reliever with his 151 strikeouts for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1977. Rich Gossage has hand signed this 8x10 black and white photograph of him with catcher Thurman Munson shaking hands as they celebrate a team win and a save by Gossage during a Yankees game circa 1978-79. A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
