Item Description
These two nice commercial pots from Cleveland's Cowan Pottery Company were created in the 1920's and still look fresh and decorative!
Both stand 6-1/2" tall. Glazes are mottled mustard yellow with a rose overglaze, and seafoam blue with a celedon green overglaze.
These pieces would look great with large floral designs in them, perfect for your holiday table! They are in great shape: no chips, cracks, or repairs.
Although Cowan Pottery (1912-1931) is less well known in American Art Pottery circles they enjoyed great success as a commercial and art pottery studio. By 1928, Cowan Pottery had grown to a staff of 35 people and was producing 175,000 single pieces a year ranging from unlimited stock designs to limited editions of sculptured pieces. Visit the Cowan Pottery Museum for more info.
We're also listing an unsigned artist made Cowan bowl you might have an interest in. Item #463
