With the Cardinals third base job wide open for the 2001 season, a rookie by the name of Albert Pujols stepped in. Coming out of nowhere, Pujols went on to to slam 37 home runs and tally in 137 RBI. This was one of the biggest seasons a rookie has ever had in Major League Baseball history. Albert Pujols went on to start at third base for the National League at the 2001 All-Star Game and was named the 2001 Natonal League Rookie of the Year. Pujols has since continued his dominance, including a 2003 season that he ended with a .349 average, 124 RBI and 43 home runs. Pujols has hand signed this MLB baseball. A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
