Cleveland Art & Craft
Item Description
A rare opportunity to own one of Bill McVey's lovely and charming bronze sculptures!
Sculptor William Mozart McVey (1905-1995), 1994 winner of The Cleveland Arts Prize and beloved teacher at the Cleveland Institute of Art, became Cleveland's most visible artist largely through his numerous local commissions for public sculpture. He not only left a large body of work in the Cleveland area but was nationally recognized for his nine-foot bronze statue of Sir Winston Churchill at the British Embassy in Washington, DC.
This charming Bear measures 12" in width by 7-1/2" high and is full of character and life!
The bronze is Estate-Issued and was cast in 2006 by Mark Olistsky at Studio Foundry of Cleveland, which cast the artist's work during his lifetime.
