Item Description

Watercolor on Arches Paper (original painting painted on site). Approximately 5 x 5 inches; 10 x 10 inches framed. Framed in a maple shadow box with a white museum mat. This beautiful watercolor was painted by Cheryl Knowles-Harrigan, an ACCC faculty member and Chair of the Art Department. Prof. Knowles-Harrigan has a BFA (illustration) from Philadelphia College of Art (now University of the Arts) and a 4-year certificate from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (painting and printmaking). Her MA is from Richard Stockton College of NJ (instructional technology). She has exhibited in countless group and solo shows in Philadelphia and New Jersey and is a member of the Cedarwater Painters group. Her work has been favorably reviewed by critics in Philadelphia such as Robin Rice and Andrew Mangravite. Her work is in numerous private collections. Her artist's philosophy is, "When making paintings, drawings, mixed media works or prints, I try to use media that will enhance the mood of the work. Subject matter and appropriate media are my first concerns. Size (usually small) and the steps to make it are next. Each piece must evoke a mood or sensation."
