Item Description

Help a woman in recovery receive her GED. Your $90 gift will cover the fee for a GED test and certificate.

WRA exists to break the cycle of addiction by instilling hope for a quality of life that includes becoming a successful, productive, and healthy member of society. To help women address the challenges they will face when transitioning out of residential and outpatient treatment, WRA has developed the New Directions Program which provides clients with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that enable them to find work and housing and become self-supporting after leaving the treatment program.

The New Directions Program Counselor helps each client identify their overall educational, employment, and housing needs and goals in preparation for their discharge from the program by developing an individual action plan with comprehensive referrals and resources. WRA refers women to community resources such as Occupational Industrialization Center West (OICW), Regional Occupation Program (ROP), GED preparation and testing, and community college for certification programs.
