Item Description
This is a woodcut relief print. The term relief refers to any printmaking process in which only the raised areas of the block are printed. Woodcuts fall into this category. This print is created from two different wood blocks. The "key block" (main image) was printed in a light gray/pink color. After the ink dried a second block inked in black was printed on top of the first image. Oil base ink was used on acid-free rice paper. Lydia Lehr is a full-time faculty member at Atlantic Cape Community College. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a MFA in Sculpture. She maintains a studio in Mullica Township and is currently working on a series of relief prints.
