Item Description
"I Promised You a Rose Garden" was inspired by a gift for a special occasion. Realizing that the roses in the vase were beautiful but temporary, the artist began to create a quilt which can last for a century if the owner takes care of it. The quilt was created by Sharon Kretmar, a staff member at ACCC. She has been quilting for the last fifteen years with an original interest in water color painting. Water colors and quilts are quite similar in that the color and design play an important role in both. This quilt is an original piece created entirely by hand, both the piecing and the quilting, using the Log Cabin design. The roses are applied using "borderie perse" a French form of appliqué. The quilt measures approximately 40" x 52". It is suitable for cuddling by a fire, draped over a sofa or as a wall hanging.
Item Special Note
The quilt can be washed by hand in cold water and ironed if necessary since it made of 100% cotton materials. There is a sleeve on the back so that you can run a decorative draper rod or dowel stick through for hanging. For packaging and shipping costs of this item, UPS has estimated $26.00.
