Item Description
"The Four Directions" was created by Villas, New Jersey artist Cheryl Crews. This one-of-a-kind design was styled after the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse in Wildwood NJ and part of the 2003 Beacons By The Sea community art event. The sculpture, originally purchased by Commerce Bank, is being made available for this auction. The artist explained how she designed this lighthouse, "I elaborated on my theme by reacting directly to the Victorian architecture of the model and used a variety of materials and techniques to express the concept in sculptural form." Cheryl Crews is an active professional artist and teacher. Known for her work as a painter of portraits and landscapes, she has a BFA from Philadelphia College of Art, has taught in public and private schools and is a senior adjunct faculty member of Atlantic Cape Community College. She has steadfastly pursued her creative visions as an artist, writer, teacher and community activist, evolving with the challenges met along the way. Her deep love and respect for nature spirits her work, and her mural in Northfield NJ, depicting the local environment and the beings that live in harmony with it, earned her honors from the Lenni-Lenape Indians. The sculpture is a prefabricated mold and decorated with clay, macrame, fish net, and rock specimens. It is 61.5 in. high x 36 in wide x 64 in long and could be shipped via shipping company.

In good condition. To ship in the continental US would cost anywhere in the range of $300-400 (includes crating) plus insurance or any pick up charges It is suggested that local bidders consider pickup, which will be arranged by the college.
