Item Description
The Pomergranate is one of 50 monoprints by local artist Louis Kaplan. It is signed, named and numbered. Lou Kaplan's contemporary and colorful visual concept of the pomergranate reproduces the image by use of linoleum prints to create a common matrix -- but each image in the series is unique. The notation "linocut/mixed media" appears in the lower left hand corner of each print and indicates that each print has some element of hand painting before, after or during the printing process. The printed components of these images were made at the Pyramid Atlantic Arts Center in Silver Spring, MD, and at O'Brein Graphics in Basalt, CO.
