Item Description
Francis Cape earned a BFA from the City and Guilds of London Art School and an MFA from Goldsmith College, University of London. Cape has earned international recognition for his handcrafted woodwork sculptures and has exhibited around in the world in group and solo exhibitions. His work often employs a strong architectural element as demonstrated in CAC Cincinnati, Perspective Study for Rear, 2004. In 2004, Cape exhibited at the Contemporary Arts Center in Nothing Compared to This, an exhibition that showcased works of art that subtlety infused rather than commanded the gallery space. This fall, Cape will return to the Center to participate in the Paper Sculpture Show.
