Item Special Note
Matthew Kinsey received his BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 1991 and has studied independently with Neil Riley and Charles Hall. Matthew is currently a consulting technical editor for Ultrecht Art Supplies. He has been a visiting lecturer at Wittenburg University in Springfield, OH; and at the Columbus Cultural Arts Center. His work is reminiscent of the Old Masters, incorporating scrupulously crafted drawings with time-tested techniques of oil painting. Kinsey's images are chosen for their representation of universal ideals of domestic life--food, drink and comfort. He considered his work a meditation on gratitude for the simple gifts of existence. Kinsey's work is in the esteemed collections of Sally Blue, Sharon Weiss, Maureen Metcalf, Dr. Robert Falcon, Carol and David Aronowitz, Ray Hanley, Debra Joyce Dawson, and many others. He is currently represented by A Muse Gallery and will participate in the gallery's group show July and August of 2006.
