Item Description
Fred Tomaselli earned a BA in painting and drawing from California State University. Tomaselli has received national acclaim for his richly colored canvases that confront America's self-indulgent culture. Tomaselli had a solo exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Center in 1996 and participated in the group exhibition Post-Hypnotic in 1999. This fall, Tomaselli will return to the Center in the Paper Sculpture Show. His work can be found in the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington D.C., among others.
