Item Description
In 1987, Joel Otterson was the youngest artist ever chosen for a one-person exhibition in the Projects Room of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Otterson was born in Los Angeles in 1959, but spent most of his childhood in Oregon. He lived in New York City for eighteen years, during which time he established an international reputation for his artwork. The Cincinnati Art Museum recently purchased Otterson's, The Peaceable Kingdom: The Great Wall of China Made in America, for its permanent collection and he was commissioned to produce The Donor Curtain for the Playhouse in the Park. His work has been collected by several major museums outside the Midwest. Otterson currently lives and works in California.
