Item Description
Since earning his BFA in fine art for Edinboro University, Emil Lukas has exhibited his work in solo shows across globe--most recently at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, the Weatherspoon Museum in North Carolina, The Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh, Gallery Otto in Bologna, Marcel Sitcoske Gallery in San Francisco, and Starks Gallery in New York--not to mention more than 50 group exhibitions. His work is an exploration of processes and their connected qualities, which correlates to the idea that experiences come in waves and are revealed in layers. The painting that Lukas has donated to the CAC "is made from thick layers of paint on an absorbent surface. The surface is a cast of common bubble wrap." Jay Dunkelman was an early collector of Lukas's work.
