Item Description
Dr. John Chewning is both a prominent medical doctor and an attorney, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has been a generous patron of the arts in our city. In this work, Chewing has experimented with medical technology, light, and uncanny automatons. Instead of using his X-ray machine to scan the parts of a human body, Chewning has X-rayed a doll. The result is a fascinating, almost photogram-like work that both haunts and delights.
