Item Description

You are bidding on a package of FOUR private Ikebana classes from Master Ikebana teacher Mary Burnett de Gomez of the Hanayagi Japanese Garden Shop.

Mary Burnett de Gomez is a Master Ikebana teacher with the Ichiyo School of Ikebana located in Tokyo, Japan. Classes will be taught at The Hanayagi Japanese Garden Shop located at 3107 Eubank NE #32, Albuquerque, NM.

Ikebana -(Ee-kay-bah-nah) a Japanese word meaning "living flowers" refers to the Japanese way of arranging flowers for aesthetic enjoyment. Ikebana grew out of the religious sentiments of the earliest Japanese who attributed a spiritual role to all things in nature -rocks, trees, water, flowers, etc. Flowers in artistic creations evoke pleasurable feelings.

Ikebana is an intimate part of the lives of all Japanese. Using flowers to commune with beauty and the spiritual side of nature remains one of the most appealing facets of Japanese culture, and continues to grow in popularity around the world.

If you have any questions about this class or would like to learn more, please contact Mary Burnett de Gomez at hanayagi@spinn.net.
