Item Description
Since 1997, Brian Joiner's intelligent and provocative art has gained wide national acclaim. As a Cincinnati-based artist, his work has been included in countless exhibitions around the city--at The Weston Gallery, The Artery, the YWCA Women's Art Gallery, the Carnegie Art Center, the Cincinnati Museum Center, and many more. Outside the Queen City, Joiner has exhibited his work in exhibitions in Tennessee, Illinois, St. Louis, Washington, D.C., Louisville and Chicago. He has won various awards and grants, both nationally and locally. Joiner is possibly most well known for his Black Women Series and his paintings at the National Underground Railroad Center.
