Item Description
Mitch Stein (Adin and Mayana Bonapart's stepdad) is offering a 3 hour jazz piano performance ideal for a dinner party, corporate event, or any other occasion that would be enhanced by live jazz. Bio: Mitch Stein is one of the West Coast's most in-demand keyboardists. He has played piano since the age of 4, and has performed and/or recorded with such jazz, blues, rock and funk greats as Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Paul McCandless, Frank Morgan, Jaco Pastorius, Charles Neville, Buddy Rich, Peter Cetera, Gary Burton, Karl Denson, Luther Tucker, The Greyboy Allstars, Branford Marsalis, Lionel Hampton, John Lee Hooker, Little Jimmy Scott, Les Claypool, Betty Carter, Freddie Hubbard, Rob Wasserman, Robert Walter's 20th Congress, Tootie Heath, Zero, John Heard, Harvey Mandel, Al Foster, Von and Chico Freeman, Steve Rodby, Papa John Creach, and many others. One of Mitch's more memorable gigs was when he was hired to perform solo jazz piano at Mick Jagger's daughter Karris' wedding, and another was when his trio played at a private birthday party Mick threw for Jeri Hall the following day. Mitch is a seasoned composer, and is the exclusive composer of "DeadRingers" (www.dead-ringers.com), classic Grateful Dead ringtones for cell phones.
Item Special Note
The performance must be scheduled within one (1) year of the end of the auction. Mitch will provide his own digital grand piano; however, if winning bidder is able to and would prefer to provide an acoustic piano, the piano must be at least a baby grand, in complete working condition, and must have been professionally tuned no more than two (2) days prior to performance. Performance will include a break of ten (10) minutes per hour. Should the winning bidder desire a larger ensemble, Mitch can provide a world-class bassist, drummer, sax player, and/or other musicians for an additional fee.
