Item Description
The ideal Fall escape! Participate in the wine harvest season in famed Sonoma County, California. This is a fantastic opportunity for wine lovers not only to learn about grapes, grape growing and wine making, but also to actually physically participate in the picking, crushing, fermenting and pressing of grapes--all with the guidance of a winemaker who has been making wine for 35 years.
Just 35 miles north of San Francisco, Sonoma County offers a wild and dramatic Pacific coastline, the winding Russian River, majestic old growth redwoods, historic towns, delightful inns and fine hotels. The beauty of the area has attracted artists and craftsman colonies, rejuvenating spas and some of the finest dining experiences in the United States.
This amazing excursion comes with $1,000 allowance for travel expenses or however you want to spend it!
Item Special Note
Package must be used by November 2006. Harvest season usually starts in mid-August and goes through September and most of October, depending on weather. Exact dates of this package would be determined by the winner and the winemaker--ideally the second half of September or first week or two of October, as those weeks are generally considered "peak."
