Item Special Note
As you can see, I like to do decorative art that is functional and cleverly designed. Yeah, no one could probably guess that this is a his and hers jewelry box. You can pull on the front steps and out comes a roomy cash register-style drawer. You can tilt the roof back, using the corner of the eaves and you have three trays for jewelry and under the left and right hand tray you have very roomy storage areas for special little whatnot treasures. Right now I do arts and crafts so I can support myself while I'm locked up. I'm really thankful I can too, because it keeps me busy and I don't have to depend on my family so much or be a burden on them. This project is all handmade with hand tools - nothing electric is used. The red and white wood is cedar and the dowel rods are oak. We can get our materials through our commissary and mail order.
This piece will be on display at the Lab Gallery at the
Roger Smith Hotel in NYC from December 13th-17th.
