Item Special Note
This piece is important to me because it reminds me of its namesake - I simpler time in my life. I was raised in the country and we had two barns set in the woods similar to the riding barn represented in this picture. I spent many, many hours playing in and around the barn with my family and friends. We would pile hay up under the hayloft door and spend hours jumping into the hay. On rainy cold days we would fix a picnic lunch and stare out at the cold rain eating hot soup and sandwiches. Webster's dictionary defines simple as "uncomplicated, free from dishonesty or vanity." The world today is far from simple. I remember when I was innocent in my heart. This is the place I believe we all long for once again.
This piece will be on display at the Lab Gallery at the
Roger Smith Hotel in NYC from December 13th-17th.
