Item Special Note
Badu has been a dominant force in the music world. But it was her portrayal of a depression era migrant farm worker that inspired this work and gave voice to the plight of women of color who worked the farms, plantations and orchards of this country. This portrait is a tribute to the women who made it possible to produce future generations of professionals by the work of her hands and the sweat of her brow.
