Item Special Note
Obtaining the materials to draw or even to express creativity has obstacles that are put in place by the California Department of Corrections. So, with the never-ending restrictions being placed on allowable art paper that can come into this institution, I've turned to a simple paper bag. Being housed in the SHU, I'll say that my environment is an impoverished one, but I fight back the restriction and I create my own sanctuary in my art...even if I have to use a brown bag that some use for trash. I've chosen to title this drawing "Passion" for a few reasons. One of which is my obvious passion to draw and the other is the passion in her simple gaze. We all have passions throughout our life span, and I just hope my drawing will inspire passion in its viewers.
