Item Description

Chick-Flick heartthrob Dewie Pile will ruffle your feathers with laughter as he flaunts his puffy orange crown and charms you into changing to a vegetarian diet. Rob Mariani's hand- carved, hand-painted wood chicken measures 7"(h) x 5"(w) x3"(d).

Rob Mariani notes that "the idea for my Kitchen Chickens was hatched the summer we had our kitchen remodeled. When I picked up the discarded wood and ran my thumbnail along the grain, I felt...it should really have a "second life." ..The first creature I carved turned out to be a chicken with a rounded chest and a comical u-shaped body. I stuck a plastic comb on top of his head, glued some dried dune grass on for his tail, painted him a brilliant orange with green spots, and named him, "Adam McEggbert." And thereby hangs the tale of his descendant, Dewie Pile.
