Item Description

The lowly artichoke becomes a wayside sacrament in this eagerly anticipated egg tempera painting by Diane Savino. Crafting her frame in a manner reminiscent of religious iconography, Savino celebrates the essential beauty and sacredness of this edible flower-like vegetable.

Rest House: Slumbering Artichoke is an egg tempera painting measuring 11"(h) x 8"(w) in a gold wood frame.

Diane Savino holds an MFA from Vermont's Norwich University, an M.Ed from the Hartford Art School and a BA from Westfield State College. She has had numerous exhibitions, including Springfield's Museum of Fine Arts, the Wistariahurst Museum in Holyoke, MA, Miami Dade Community College, and Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA. Diane has won many awards for her work, which is featured in numerous private as well public collections throughout the world. Diane is currently represented by the Twin House gallery in Atlanta, GA.
